Kona Diving Company has a 48-hour cancellation policy for most bookings. The following circumstances are subject to special policies as follows:
- Bookings for charters from December 20th to January 5th are subject to a 72 hour cancellation policy
- Bookings for private charters are subject to a seven day cancellation policy
- Bookings for 6 or more passengers are subject to a seven day cancellation policy
If you need to cancel your booking inside of the cancellation policy, our crew will make every effort to fill your seat(s). If we are able to fill your seat(s), you will not be charged. If we cannot fill your seat(s), you will be charged the full amount of your booking.
All passengers must be able to converse in English. For your safety and those of our other guests, we must be able to communicate with all guests and cannot make exceptions.
Any snorkelers under the age of 18 must be accompanied on the boat by a parent or guardian.
Any divers under age 18 must be accompanied on the boat by a parent or guardian. Certified divers 14 and up may be permitted to leave their guardian at home; this is at the discretion of the crew and is determined on a case-by-case basis. Divers aged 10 and 11, are required to have a private guide for their party due to their unique depth limitation; there may be an additional charge for this service.
In the unfortunate event that we cannot operate a charter due to bad weather conditions, we will completely refund any payments. On the rare occasions when we simply do not have enough interest to make our boat go for a particular charter, we will try to move your booking to a different day or night. If that is not an option we will find space on another operator’s boat and you will arrange payment with that operator instead of us.
While our night dives offer one of the best changes in the world of seeing manta rays, it’s important to remember that manta rays are wild animals and come and go as they please. It’s one of the things that makes the experience so magical! While we see them more often than not, there are nights where the mantas do not show up at all. If the mantas give the site a miss on the night you are diving or snorkeling with us, we will invite you to come back and try again for a discounted rate within a 12 month period.
All students will have to complete a PADI medical questionnaire prior to starting any in-water course work. If the answers to any of the listed questions is YES, please visit your doctor prior to your dive trip to make sure that diving is safe for you.
These questions should also be reviewed by certified divers. If any medical situations have occurred since your last dive course, please visit your doctor to make sure that you have nothing to worry about!
Passengers are required to sign a waiver at the beginning of their vacation (minors must have a parent or guardian present to sign with them). For our guests living in Kona who dive with us often we require that you fill out a new waiver each month. Feel free to print out the waiver, complete it and bring it with you when you come to check in with us. If you don’t have a chance to complete this waiver in advance, no worries, we’ll have one for you here that you can complete upon arrival.
Please be prepared to present your certification card when you come to check in. Even if you’ve recorded your certification number on a completed waiver, we will still need to see your actual card! If you can’t locate your certification card, please notify us in advance so that we can help to verify your certification credentials by contacting the appropriate training agency.
All charters are subject to a tax of 7.712% (GET and Harbor Tax).
